Following City College Coventry successful hosting of the World Skills Team UK finals competitions in automobile related areas in June 2011 - the college is proud to welcome the World Skills inward delegation on 4th Oct. 2011.
The College was chosen by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and Technical and Vocational Education Training UK (TVET) to represent the best practice of UK’s technical teaching and learning.
The delegates represented training and education providers and companies from Austria, India, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Russia and Turkey were impressed by College’s £60 million campus and visited the state-of-art Automobile and Bus repair, Engineering, Construction (Welding), IT, and Graphic Design workshops and classrooms.
The principal, Paul Taylor and Carrie Smith, Vice Principal of City College Coventry as well as a senior manager from its Heart of England International Academy partner jointly met the delegates. Following the tour of the college there was a Q & A session hosted by the principal and included topics such as the management and governance structure, funding and the international strategy of the college.
Programmes such as vocational training, the Teacher Development Programme and English Language Training etc all drew the international visitors’ attention.

The World Skills Finals are the Olympic Games of the skills world, an event where countries from around the world come together to compete to become World Champions. This year the finals are being held in London.
